OUR STORY

Started with a plan. Built on hard work.

Sage Energy was founded by Sage Woodhouse – a qualified electrician who left school knowing exactly what he wanted to build. Before starting the business, Sage spent eight years deliberately working across commercial, industrial and residential projects, building the kind of hands-on experience that most tradies never get the chance to develop.

That decision to take the long road paid off. When Sage Energy launched, it wasn't just another electrical company – it was a business built on genuine expertise, local values and a real commitment to doing things right. No cutting corners. No dodgy work. Just quality outcomes and people who stand behind their work.

Today, Sage Energy has grown into a tight-knit team of professionals who carry that same pride into every job. From small home repairs to large commercial projects, the standard never changes.

WHO WE ARE

When it comes to attention to detail, no-one else comes close

Time and time again, we’ve seen electrical jobs that are left unfinished, outdoor equipment that isn’t waterproofed thoroughly, power points that aren’t level, switchboards that aren’t labelled and even ceiling fans that aren’t centred in a room. It’s this kind of work by cowboy electricians that is letting our industry down. But you’ll get none of that with Sage Energy.

Our attention to detail leaves other electrical contractors in the dust. We check all our work with one simple test: If another sparky came onto the site, would they be able to fault our work? We work damn hard to make sure that the answer is always no. And we’re proud to lead by example by upholding this standard across all our jobs.

Sage Woodhouse

Director & Lead Electrician

Sage is the owner and lead electrician at Sage Energy, overseeing the team, quoting, planning and making sure every job is completed to the standard he's built his reputation on. He's hands-on, approachable and genuinely invested in every project the business takes on.

Away from work, Sage loves getting away in the caravan with his wife Danielle and their three kids. Beach trips, inland adventures, fishing comps and boating days are always high on the list – especially with his son, who's just as fishing-obsessed as he is.

Danielle Woodhouse

Operations Manager

Danielle keeps Sage Energy running smoothly behind the scenes. From scheduling and customer communication to day-to-day admin and keeping everything on track, Danielle makes sure the business operates the way it should – efficiently, professionally and with a personal touch.

Outside of work, Danielle is fitness-motivated and loves getting away on family trips whenever the calendar allows. Caravanning has become a bit of a new favourite – a serious step up from the old tent camping days. Anything beachy is her kind of escape.

Kyle McKay

Qualified Tradesman - with Sage Energy since 2018

Kyle was Sage Energy's very first apprentice and has returned as a fully qualified tradesman after gaining valuable experience across the wider industry. He brings sharp instincts, a strong work ethic and the kind of practical knowledge that only comes from doing the work day in, day out. Off site, Kyle enjoys life on his property with his dogs, a good four-wheel drive trip, camping and the occasional pub parmy – usually in that order.

Alex Orbitz

3rd Year Apprentice - with Sage Energy since 2024

Alex is a detail-focused apprentice who picks things up quickly and takes real pride in the quality of his work. He's become a reliable and valued part of the Sage Energy crew, and the feedback we get from customers reflects that.

Outside of work, Alex has played soccer most of his life and enjoys four-wheel driving and working on his Hilux – which, from all reports, is a permanent work in progress.

Ryan Bishop

1st Year Apprentice - with Sage Energy since 2026

Ryan is our newest recruit and he's already made a great impression. With a strong work ethic, solid values and an outgoing personality, Ryan has slotted right into the team. He's a quick learner who also helps manage the Sage Energy social media pages.

Outside of work, Ryan is into music, history, camping and anything social. The kind of person who makes the day go faster.

Obi

Office Dog & Workshop Supervisor

Obi is our four-year-old English Staffy and the unofficial morale manager of Sage Energy. He's a big blue boy with a gentle soul – whether he's sleeping on Danielle's feet in the office or doing his rounds of the workshop, Obi is always available for a well-timed pat.

Official responsibilities include greeting visitors, quality-control napping and general team morale improvement. He takes all three very seriously.
